Winter 2008 Law Classes - total classes (5) - January 2 - Febuary 2nd (5 weeks)
Start Date
Online Class materials and classwork, assignments and quizzes will be "turned on" and you can start work on January 2nd at 6 am . The Winter 2008 session consists of 5 weeks. Look at the important school calendar dates - http://lamission.edu/students/calendar.aspx . Deadlines are at 11:55 pm.
You must login to class within first week
Students can be dropped from class by your instructor if you do not login and post your introduction, etc. within the first week of class.
Purchase your Textbook
In the meanwhile, purchase your textbook ( http://lamission.edu/law/textbooks ), and read your syllabus for class - find it under http://lamission.edu/law and start reading your textbook. Print out the "due dates", and post your discussions on your introduction, How to Study Law, Good Legal Writing, and Legal Ethics - Character Counts.
Discussion Forums
Please note that forums consist of class discussion questions. You are encouraged to participate by posting, and then commenting on other students work. These "discussion questions" are no longer graded individually but are considered "class participation points" - for a total of 10% of your final grade and will not be calculated based on your participation and added to your grades until the end of the session. This is a new policy. We want to encourage "class participation", good lively discussion, and a sense of a classroom by providing you a chance to discuss your opinions on interesting legal topics and issues.
Moodle
Our program has adopted a new course management system called Moodle. This is the program you use to submit your online assignments, tests, projects, and work. Here are some notes on moodle - http://moodlenotes.pbwiki.com which you might find helpful.
